Peak Performance continues its expansion in Canada with a new store in the award-winning ski resort of Whistler, British Columbia.

Following the success of the company’s North American flagship store in downtown Vancouver, Peak Performance returns to its mountain roots with a new store in the heart of Whistler Village. “Peak Performance was founded in the Swedish mountain resort of Are in 1986” says Stefan Solfors, Brand Manager for Canada. “In the year of our twentieth anniversary we are delighted to be able to open our doors to the world-class resort of Whistler”.

The design of the Whistler store reflects all facets of the mountain lifestyle with cosy wood panelling juxtaposed with the adrenalin-fuelled feats of the world’s top skiers on a huge movie screen. Clean Scandinavian styling, including concrete floors and free-hanging steel wire racks, beautifully showcases the merchandise.

World Class Events and Peak Friends

Peak Performance sponsors several major sporting events including the 2005 World Skiing Championships in Bormio and two European golf tournaments: the Omega European Masters in Switzerland and the Volvo Masters in Andalucia.

This coming winter Peak Performance will be involved in the Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival in Whistler, BC, the Verbier Ride freeskiing competion in Switzerland and Stockholm’s Stadium Winter Jam. Peak Performance is also the leading sponsor of the VAST movie awards where established and amateur film makers alike compete for a $50,000 prize purse. With leading international ski magazines distributing a VAST DVD across the globe and inviting readers to vote on their top movie, the VAST Awards are truly the world’s largest ski film awards. More information can be found at www.vastawards.com . (Note from Doglotion: Whistler ripper Heather Roberts has a movie you should vote for).

Peak Performance is proud to support many professional skiers and golfers in both Canada and Europe. Canadian Peak Friends include Banff’s Kevin Hjertaas and Whistler locals Kris Cormier, Dominic Melanson and Sara Oakden.
