Industry News: Rex Scores a Job

Atomic Skis proudly announces the appointment of Whistler ripper Rex Thomas to manage its international team of freeskiers.

Based in Whistler, B.C., Rex Thomas is a long-time veteran of the freeride arena and has competed at every level of the sport – he's best known for his ability to throw down unnatural cork 9 opposite mutes with ease. A member of the team himself, Thomas will be flanked by Tom Dolezel and Travis Redd, and currently has plans to recruit additional rippers to form a super talented park and pipe team that will compete throughout the 2005/06 season.

Continuing the momentum from last season, where he competed in the ESPN X games and Gravity Games and won the Breckenridge stop of the American Freeski tour, Tom Dolezel returns to the team for another season of full-throttle skiing. The Collingwood, Ontario native is notorious for sliding urban rails with consequence and doing full-difficulty slopestyle runs.

Young and ambitious, Aspen local Travis Redd rounds out the Atomic freeride squad. With one of the best segments in Level 1 Productions "High Five" last season, Redd spends most of his season filming and sliding the craziest urban rails around. Redd throws down another all-star performance in his upcoming segment in Level 1's new flick, Shanghai Six.

The Atomic team will be skiing on the Triplets HP, Urban Triplets, Pimp Daddy and new for 2006/07 a big fatty called the Thug.
