In less than 50 days, fifty of the best freeriders from around the world will embark on their quest to secure the title of world champion on some of the planet most challenging peaks. This 10th edition will debut on January 28th in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, France, challenging skiers and snowboarders to Europe’s highest peaks.
Strong field of talent from Canada this year:
The freeride ski prodigy, Logan Pehota, makes his return after a triumphant debut in 2016 where his innovative combination of freeride and freestyle resulted in a 2nd place overall finish.
Skier Lauren Cameron also had a strong showing last year with a podium finish in Fieberbrunn, Austria.
Cameron will ski alongside 2016 Freeride World Qualifer (FWQ) champion and Ontario native Kylie Sivell.
2016 FWQ world champion Audrey Hebert will round out the women’s snowboard category after sweeping two victories in last year’s qualifiers.
