Thought this new Youtube app was pretty cool. Lets you cruise through related videos in Warp Speed view. Instead of the examples they provided, I put the link for Gaper Day 2007 into the URL, and hence...

It was amazing how quickly I got from Gaper Day 2007 to a 'Big Booty Hoes' video. It was like 3 degrees of Warp separation. I'm guessing it has something to do with skiing in thongs. No wait, it went to Gaper Day 2005, then Fear & Loathing in Las Lenas, then Las Lenas Hoes, and then, well you get the point.

Gaper Day & TGR in Steve Jobs' Keynote Macworld 2008

This was almost a HUGE day for Doglotion, Paul Cotton, and the legions of Gaper Day fans and participants. Watch this part of Steve Jobs' keynote Macworld 2008 presentation, and you'll see that he pulls up an Eric Roner clip from TGR TV's streaming podcasts. BUT, look closer. The first podcast on the TGR playlist is none other than the Gaper Day 2007 video - a masterpiece by Paul Cotton, now available on iTunes. Watch as Steve Jobs looks at the list, pauses while his brain considers what 'Gaper Day 2007' might mean, then scrolls down to the Eric Roner clip.

Damn that would have been cool. BUT, let us not forget that the words 'Gaper Day 2007' did in fact grace the the big screen of Steve Jobs' Macworld 2008 presentation. Just a subtle hint of confirmation that yes, ski Gapers, united through www.Doglotion.com, are on a path towards world domination.

A Merry Christmas indeed. We went for a wee stroll in Vancouver today to burn off some Christmas grub, and wham, it started snowing bigtime. Green when we went out the door, and about 4cm by the time we got back an hour later. Not to shabby for a white Christmas in Vancouver, and a reminder to get our butts up to Whistler tomorrow for more shredding.

Got a chuckle out of this one... obviously it's time to put the surf board away and get the ski gear out again...

Merry Christmas Everyone. Fresh back from the tropics I don't have any snowy news to report, other than everyone in the Pacific Northwest owes me a beer for leaving behind a meter and a half of snow in my absence. Anywho, to get you in the mood for some Christmas Shredding, here's a super random from last Christmas at Silverton. Go Figure.

Whistler Opening Weekend Ruled

OK totally guilty, some how I came out of the opening weekend with ZERO photos or footage. Not because it wasn't worth it. Oh far from it. Rather, because I was too pumped to shred for opening weekend that I didn't even bother picking up a camera to document it. Let's recap...

Saturday, opening day, some 6000 shredders came out to see it happen. About a meter of snow a few days before opening, a little time to settle, then wham, Whistler Mountain opens with another epic start to a season. Laps of Ratfink and Chunky's had the goods on green chair, and the Goat's path to lower VD's and hikes to Doom & Gloom had even sweeter spots. Much sweeter.

Nobody seemed to care that it was howling wind and snow, winter was here... bring it.

And if that wasn't good enough, in rolled Sunday, aptly named for a blue bird day with 14cm in the last 24hrs to play with. It was ridiculous. Stayed totally blue all day, cold, fresh snow to the valley, and just plastered white everywhere. EVERYONE hiked the peak and harmony, it was too good to miss. Pretty much all the horeshoes were hit, harmony waterfall, Excitation, Exhileration, westbowl, paleface, and even... Don't Miss. On opening weekend! Damn people were busy.

Good to see the stoke so high, it's going to be a killer season.

Santiago Sessions - The pre party

So after touching down in SCL for the second time in 2007 I was stoked to catch some sweet turns on valley Nevado. Ya it cost me an arm and a leg and the bus broke down on the way back to Santiago but I did ski some light non-wind affected pow in the Andes in July yesterday.
Mark Lasseter rolled into town last night and so we had to celebrate the joint return to SA in proper Argentian style and nearly saw the sun come up on a smoggy Santiago.
Tonight was entertaining again dancing the night away with American friends.
Tommorrow will see us (Mark and I) shredding La Parva and sampling some of its' more secret spots.
Ripping around Santiago tonight in a rented Toyota sport hatchback I was feeling quite like the privilaged Santiago resident this evening...

Killing it!! These guys are rad...
