Faction skis is comin' at you with some new boards for 2008/2009. Here's the scoop right from them...

Snap! - this year we’re dropping some revolutionary downhill motion machines onto the market – two new freestyle and freeride products to get you down the hill with more style, speed and flair than ever before – in addition to our expanded lineup of incredibly versatile, design-o-licious fat twins.

Bing! – the “Royale”. Not a hint of cheese and the most versatile rockered ski on the market. 183cm tall, competely flat underfoot, rockered front and rear with traditional sidecut and a huge 120mm waist to make landing switch off that pillowline as fun as arcing it on fresh corduroy…and unlike other rockered play skis out there this ski is stiff enough to be used all over the mountain, in all conditions…

Pow! - the second dollop is the new & improved “Thirteen”. Weighing in at 194cm, 112mm waist and a mahoosive 46m radius sidecut, this baby is long, fat and straight. Someone say ‘bomber’ I hear?! This ski is not for the weak hearted - designed by our Pro Team riders led by ex-IFSA World Champion Ryan Oakden, expect to see this ski on the first lift then off in a cloud of snow… and that’s all she wrote…

Bam! - Comrade Tony McWilliam, Faction owner and lead designer said: “These skis represent the pinnacle of ski design. Together with our all-mountain twins, expanded fat-ski lineup and new women’s line called the “Heroine”, The Faction Collective has one of, if not THE most comprehensive lineup of freestyle and freeride skis on the market – each one of them designed with the full input of our team riders. Faction, the independent freestyle/freeride ski brand producing some of the highest quality twin tips on the market, has decided to give it’s activists something for getting on-line.

They’ve just launched their shiny new online store, and to share the love they’ve decided to get rid of that surprise at the end called “Shipping Costs” and let you have the skis for the price on the box – no hidden extras!

If you live anywhere in the USA, Canada, Europe (including UK) they’ll get the skis out to you asap with NO shipping costs to you.

The Faction team believe that being an internet-savvy ‘collective’ doesn’t mean leaving their favourite stores out in the cold in the process. They’ve fixed it so if you buy a pair of skis from their website, it’s your local stockist who ships the order. If they’ve sold out, Faction sends it directly.

“Our fans spend a lot of time on the internet, and that’s often where they decide what they want to ride. Step Up Mobile Video Clip Contest

Faction Skis Challenges Everyone to be a Freeride Film Legend by Launching he Mobile Video Clip Competition

The independent freeskiing brand, invites everyone with a mobile phone camera to capture and share the spirit of free skiing and win prizes.

The concept is simple. Participants hit the slopes, use their mobile phone to capture their most adventurous moments of free skiing and send Faction their best video clips. Faction will reward the producers and riders with the most creative juices with exciting prizes including a new pair Faction skis and other Faction gear.

Comrade in Chief Tony McWilliam explains, "We got the idea when we saw riders filming each other out on the slopes doing cool stunts and jumps and then watching their mobile videos on the lifts and in bars. There's a real mobile phone revolution going on out there and it is great for free skiing. We have some amazing entrants in our Step Up UK competition which offers a contract for unsigned skiers closes at the end of the month. However, we also want to reach out to the greater free skiing audience and not just aspiring pros. Now anyone who has a mobile phone camera can be a producer, free ski film legend or just share some freeskiing exhilaration with the Faction Collective."

Video clips that best illustrate the spirit of free skiing will be selected by Faction¹s pro rider team based on creativity, adventurous style or humour.

Riders can participate by sending their clips in an e-mail to stepup@factionskis.com or Swiss participants can enter by sending their clip by sending an MMS to 939 with Ofaction¹ in the subject.
