Hand built with passion and care in the sea to sky corridor, Funk Skis may seem like a new kid on the block for boutique skis but founder and builder Greg Funk has been building skis for years. Greg is like the rest of us, a ripping skier who loves to be out in the mountains and wants to ride on great skis.
An amazing new avy blog has been started up by Wayne Flanne a long time patroller and ex-forecaster for Blackcomb Ski Patrol. On this blog Wayne provides insights, photos, avy pit profiles, resource links, videos and more. I can't describe how amazing this is.
The wait is over. Salomon Freeski TV is back for it's 5th season, badder than ever. Always the best way to start off your Tuesday morning (well one of the better ways anyway), SFTV has earned itself a solid position in cyberspace, increasing in popularity every year.

April 24...aka the last weekend Whistler lifts run for the year Ryan Prentice, Jen Ashton, Chad Manley and I headed out under bluebird skies to ski the east face of Fissile.
Perfect snow and weather were on the menu for us for as we skied the consistently steep yet exposed NE face of Fissile. Truly at classic descent in the Spearhead!
Spread the news, Blackcomb Mountain’s operations have been extended to May 30, 2011 to accommodate incredible skiing and riding conditions. Forty-seven (47) days of skiing and riding remain in the season at Whistler Blackcomb, offering one of the longest seasons in North America. I guess that means Gaper Day might get bumped to the 30th as well.
