la serena, Chile - Some 3581 km as the crow flies from where I started my surf oydessy in Montanita, Ecuador I kicked back on an equally warm beach and dug my toes in the fine Chilean sand. It had been a long trip, I had seen a lot of coast line. It was hard to believe I had made it as far as I had, I´d seen so many places, met so many people, left so many things I had only just started.

I must have good timing or something, cuz just as I picked up gear to learn kite surf they announce they're going to improve the somewhat intimidating Spit in Sqamish!
It is now official, the District of Squamish has included the Squamish Windsports Park in the budget for this year to the tune of $120,000.00. Now that this hurdle has been overcome work will begin on finishing what was started last year. The plan is to complete the launch, access, and sailing beaches this summer. This will make for a much safer and user-friendly experience when kiting and windsurfing at Squamish.

Crack of 8am, well maybe slightly after 8 as Dale reminded us we ferried out to the middle of Tyaughton Lake in the trusty Tyax Air Beaver float plane. It's been 2 years so I've done a float plane drop in the Chilcotins. The plane was as I remembered but now has an iPod for your in flight pleasure as you cruise through the chilcotions.
