snowfall

A Merry Christmas indeed. We went for a wee stroll in Vancouver today to burn off some Christmas grub, and wham, it started snowing bigtime. Green when we went out the door, and about 4cm by the time we got back an hour later. Not to shabby for a white Christmas in Vancouver, and a reminder to get our butts up to Whistler tomorrow for more shredding.

Snow in Whistler... on Sep 19... the countdown has begun. Bring it on, we're ready for it. Well, the Mountain Bike Park is still open and going strong for a couple weeks, but it's pretty exciting to see snow on the mountains. And we know there's plenty more where that came from, coming in October & November. Opening day is just over 8 weeks away - November 22. Where will you be?

Just when winter finally kicked in, I received a pretty stoking news link about next winter.

Let's just say they're callin' for a La Nina year, and atleast somebody thinks it's going to be an epic winter next year. Could it possibly be as good or better than this past winter? Time will tell... but get ready.

Looks like the snow gods are giving Whistler another taste of winter this weekend. Were you really ready for spring anyways? Didn't think so.

Thought anyone in and around Whistler might get a kick out of this forecast, looking good, very good. Up to 80 cm's in total...

Whistler is having on of the best seasons ever! Endless fresh snow keeps falling (27+ feet and still counting) and we are well over a 3 meter base now.

Yep, if you like snow and don't live in a cave, you probably know that it just dumped 50+ cm's on Whistler Blackcomb. But it gets better... the alpine didn't open today, making for some epic anticipation of this weekend. Add that to the Grand Opening of the new Symphony Express lift, and it almost gets silly.
We'll see you up here this weekend.
Enjoy...
Oh, and if for some unfathomable reason you aren't able to make it up this weekend, will let you in on the forecast... there's more coming.

This is just rediculous. What a start to the winter. Whistler has been epic. I missed today's action but the peak is sched to open for tomorrow and it's going to be silly. Meanwhile, I read skerboy's post about Fernie going mental, and then to boot, at work I get sent a link...
