The Kees & Claire fundraiser event Saturday night at the Howe Sound Brew Pub in Squamish was better than I could have ever imagined. By my guess there was about 150 people who turned up from all corners of the province including Claire's Dad and brother!! We raised just over $2000 that is going towards the memorial hut. So with that in mind the planning committee is turning it into high gear to make the hut a reality as soon as possible. If you want to help out just let me know.

Tragic news has spread about the loss of two very special people. It was confirmed that our good friends and friends of many, Cornelius 'Kees' Brenninkmeyer and Claire Dixon, were killed when their snowcave collapsed on them at night, during their would-be 30 day traverse of the Wapta Icefield.
