The first day of the Silver King Freeride went down today in snowy conditions, thank the heavens. Under the few inches of new snow is icy hardpack which is really sweet, especially for the snowboard competitors who only have one edge. The riding was strong, smooth yet aggressive with a dash of contrallability, a splash of garlic, and without anyone smashing themselves.

Whistle, B.C. - Seven days to go till my six month trip to South America and I'm stoked to have been able to freeride perfect spring corn with friends here in Whistler with the help of a little tow in to our favorite outer reef.

Note from DL: Keep an eye out for the ongoing adventures of these guys on their trip up Norway for some rad peak bagging. You Whistlerites will recognize Ian Cheddar Watson on the roster... should prove to be a pretty cool adventure. Here's some pre trip news, more coming from this blog as it unfolds...

While we're at it with Charles Gagnier, here's a flick on youtube that Salomon put together. Kind of a cool feature on him from all over the map, mostly Europe.

Some random footie from last year's Airwaves slopestyle comp at Tignes, France. Fellow Canuck Charles Gagnier took it.
