Splitboard Made of Dragon Scales – And More from Voile

Part two of our 2014/15 gear sneak peeks brings us to the backcountry skiing and riding crew at Voile. Matt kicked things off by unveiling a first for the industry – a splitboard with scales for skinless ascents in rolling terrain. We immediately dove into some hard hitting journalism, and found out the scales are actually sourced from slain dragons. At first we thought there’d be serious animal rights and environmental issues on the line here, but then we realized the world would actually be a better place without dragons.

So the crew at Voile will keep slaying dragons without public scrutiny, and backcountry snowboarders can stat slaying lines in rolly terrain like on the East Coast. Does it work? Apparently. We’ll be excited to see how well received it is next winter.

Voile also ran with the momentum of their successful V8 ski and launched a skinnier and lighter V6 for next winter. We’ll let the videos do the rest of the talking.
