Okay I'm not sure what everyone else was doing on Monday but for some reason we were the only crew in Baker's Back-country! The group was Danielle, Mike, Dave, Lee, and John. We got to the parking lot at 9:00 am and no one else was there? This just meant that we had to break trail with at least a 2 foot deep skin track. One of the ski patrolers told us that everyone left early who came up on on Sunday as the freezing levels got too high and the snow was too heavy. All we could see in front of us was a base at 203cm, Temp -3deg C, and no one else there! The first uptrack took around 2 hours but the 1 metre deep blower face shots seemed to make up for it. By the time we were on out way up again our track had 30 cms of fresh on it! We ended up getting 3 ridiculous runs and by the end of the day no one else had been in the entire area and 2 more feet of pow had fallen! Some how this was better than last opening day at Baker on Nov 12 2005. Check out all the pics: http://www.flickr.com/photos/patmulrooney/sets/72157594376190367/
