Gaper Day 2009 Coming May 18 on Blackcomb

Mayday Mayday! Its coming, its coming! Like it or not, the winter season is coming to an end in the Pacific Northwest, and that means only one thing... Gaper Day 2009 - A Saucer Boy Tribute! With the epic turn outs in '07 and '08, gapers and gorbies have been taking it to new levels in the last few years, and 2009 will be no exception. Expect the unexpected, then unexpect it again and get hit right in the nuts by the surprise. Be there!

GAPER DAY 2009 DETAILS

DATEMonday May 18 - last day of Blackcomb Mountain's winter season, and the end of the May long weekend. Rumour has it Whistler might not reopen aftewards (weather permitting, etc) so lets get'er done on May 18! **UPDATE: The snow stuck around, so Whistler Mountain is indeed reopening May 19 until sometime in June, snowpack permitting. But we couldn't risk missing Gaper Day, so May 18 it is! See you there!

MEET UP11am on the Longhorn Patio, ready to send it.

WHAT: An epic day of skiing on grass, bushes, and dirt, busting spraffies, twisters, froggies, mule kicks, and whatever floats your boat. Time to progress progression to a new level.

Dress Code: Normally we say the stupidest gorbie ski outfit you've got, but we won't be surprised if everyone and their dog shows up dressed as Saucer Boy this year to pay homage to the worlds most progressive silly goat skier, Shane McConkey, who died ski-BASEing earlier this year.

WHO: Anyone! Everyone! Tell the world, and let's get as many saucer boys out there as we possibly can.

AFTER PARTY: Details to be released closer to Gaper Day, but if the sun is shining, stuff some hot dogs in your stretch pants and plan on an apres epic like never before - on the snow!

SAUCER BOY INSPIRATION

Not that he needs any introduction, but Shane McConkey's alter-ego, Saucer Boy, will hopefully be very proud of this year's coming antics.
