canalettasBariloche, Arg - Tuesday, all day, it snowed here in the Andes, dropping some 36cms at the Frey Hut in the Catedral range near Bariloche. Wednesday a bunch of powder got skied under sunny skies. Face shots in Oct a few days after the lifts shut to skiers for the season put smiles on all of our faces - the 2 girls from Utah (sorry never caught your names), Mike 'heli' Hamiliton, Sunny from Alaska, Camilla Parker Bowles, and my own.
It's snowing again this afternoon in the mountains around the lake here. 10 more days or so in Argentina for me this season. I'm on a mission heading northward to the boarder with Chile in the pass. Hoping to ski Lanin and then something near Vallecitos before hitting Santiago.
BELOW: Refugio Frey sits in the low col.

Just some of the best lines all season Jamie, for sure for my best in Bariloche. Good things come to those who wait I guess. I'm going to go milk it some more a bit north of here. Catching a bus at 530pm to Junin de Los Andes and then another bus tommorrow up to the base of Lanin on the Argentine/Chilean border. From there skinning up to the Refugio and the following day climbing to the summit of the highest peak in the Lake District and skiing off, ojala Les Manley

Les great work! I would have loved to gone up to Cerro Frey this week and been here in Bariloche 8 days. Instead, I have been trying to climb "Cerro Kilombo" all week, which anyone who has come to SA knows that to mean fighting the factor. Paper work, residency, and land issues, all stupid things that take 10 times as long as back home. If it was easy I guess everyone would do it. Great to see you guys made it up there as truly great place! Good luck with the weather at Lanin.
Jamie sorry no posts this season from SA, had internet and windows vista issues all season. But August was all about pow in Bariloche and Chile! Videos and photos to come form 2007 season in 2 weeks!
PS Manley brothers congrats on killing it in publications this year!

Les wait to to get in the backcountry there! I remember that terrain in the pics well, but never made it past the lifts. I better get my act together if I'm going to keep up with you this year!
