Scarpa Boots - SIA 12 - Next Year's Sneak Peek with Video
Who wants to drool over next year's gear? Go time.
Over the next few weeks we'll be rolling out a couple dozen videos featuring our favourites of next year's gear, as seen at the Denver SIA 2012 tradeshow in late January.
First up, Scarpa boots. The Mobe and Hurricane Pro or lookin like sweet freeride touring boots as always, but the new Maestrale RS is what caught our attention. Still on a hunt for a lightweight touring boot that skis hard, but maintains a lot of key features of a true AT boot, such as the tongue design, or 'Unique Axial Alpine' closure... so that you can actually get your damn feet into your boots in the arctic! Easier said than done, boots like the Maestrale definitely make life easier in that regard.
The Maestrale RS is 20% stiffer and 40g heavier than the Maestrale, and like all Scarpa boots boasts the original Dynafit tech insert hardware, which can only be said for Scarpa and Dynafit. Vibram sole, Intuition liner, all that fun stuff.
We'll see if we can get our hands on a pair for a full review, until then, check out Scarpa.com and watch for details on the new boots to go live later this year.
