South America Bound?
Hmmmm, where to go, where to go. After 3 epic trips to Las Lenas, Argentina, this might be the first time we head to South America and skip it, but... we'll see. Right now reports are of decent backcountry but totally wind hammered front country in Las Lenas. Meanwhile further south, Bariloche and La Hoja sound like they couldn't suck more. But hey, if the Santa Rosa storm rolls in, you know exactly where Doglotion will be.
The good news? There's still plenty of snow in Northern Chile, so that's where we're headed! Hopefully. Hear's where the momentum and day dreams are pointing... Thinking La Parva for the South American Freeskiing Championships, then some top to bottom highway lines at El Colorado and Valle Nevado.
Then up to Portillo (finally!!) and if all goes well, then a romp of catskiing Chilean style at Ski Arpa.
And a trip wouldn't be complete without some Argentine shredding, so we'll have to check out Los Penitentes at the base of Acoconcagua.
Ah but Argentina. I Google image searched Las Lenas to poach an image for this post, and this is the first result on google... go figure. Nice on Lasseter.
