Rianbow Mountain First Drop of the Season

Submitted by Mark Lasseter on Fri, 2006-12-01 10:21.

I was in Merlin's Monday afternoon and Whistler's favourite American local Brain Baker said of course we were going to drop Rainbow in November on Tuesday as forecast was for sun, and obviously there
was snow.  Of course -20 temps and is the ski out going to be ok
were issues I brought up but Brian just talked about the pow and
after thinking about that as well forgot about everything else and went to find neck gaiter, harness, etc....  8AM flight barely ever happens on time and ture to form we left at 8:30 but were treated to one of the better views I have seen with pure bluebird and Rainobows trees balnketed with over 400 cms of new snow!

Las Lenas More Pow and Thursday Jim Franklin Day

Submitted by Mark Lasseter on Wed, 2006-09-13 15:36.

On Sunday people gave up as was just storming and blowing too hard but on Monday it was awesome with Cenidor and Vulcano Sessions at their best skiing low mountain powder. We worked the "Vulcano Poach" to its finest to get higher in Vuclano and a whole pitch to ourselves the whole day. On Tuesday Marte opened and it was awesome apparently. I had
a stomach virus from bad lomo at La Cima so spent the whole day in bed
sick. In BA now flying back to Canada for some committments but buying that flight back ASAP. Thursday is the 2 year anniversary of Jim Franklin day in Las Lenas. Jim never forgotten.....
