Big mountain rippers get ready - we're getting ever closer to the North American leg of the 2010 Freeskiing World Tour behind us.

Having enjoyed a great success last season, Mountain Sports International (MSI), IFSA, and The Mountain Challenge are proud to announce the competition dates of the Junior Freeskiing Tour (JFT). Now in its second year, the JFT is comprised of two event companies Mountain Sports International, The Mountain Challenge, and one independent event Grand Targhee.

The Freeride World Tour, probably the highest profile freeride eseries on the planet last year, announced its third season. The world's best skiers and snowboarders will yet again be battling it out in four of the world's most prestigious ski resorts. It will all start on the Russian slopes of Sochi in January followed closely by the next stage in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, France.

Yep, we all knew it was coming, but now it's official. The gnarly (and awesome) snowstorm rolled into La Parva today, preventing Day 2 of the innaugural South American Freeskiing Championships from taking place. So without many options, Day 1's results became the official results. 

Day 1 of the 2009 South American Freeskiing Championship - a first time event at La Parva, Chile - was all that and a bag of chips today. Can you use that for skiing? Anywho, it went off. Big time. Guess the Smirnoff sponsored pre party didn't slow them down as much as we'd thought!

Game on here in La Parva, Chile, South America. After some boiler plate conditions, a half foot of white powdery goodness fell from the sky and it went blue bird. Perfect day for scoping lines for the South American Freeskiing Championships.

Riding with confidence on his home mountain, Wanaka’s Jossi Wells captured the pinnacle event of the season Thursday, winning the Men’s halfpipe competition at the Volkl NZ Freeski Open at Cardrona Alpine Resort.

The North Face Big Mountain Finals at The Volkl NZ Freeski Open came to a spectacular close at The Remarkables Ski Area today with New Zealand Freeride skiers Geoff Small and Janina Kuzma crowned champions once again.
