he third stage of the Freeride World Tour was held today Monday on the Silverado venue at Squaw Valley USA. With its playful terrain the riders put up a great show for the hundreds of cheering locals, pushing the limits with a ‘best of two runs’ format.

With over two feet of snow going into the Finals and Super Finals—which were both held today—of the 19th Annual Subaru U.S. Extreme Freeskiing Championships, there was bound to be big air. And there most certainly was on today’s venue, which included parts of Staircase, Hand Rail, Body Bag and Dead End.

When one thinks of Chamonix often images of huge towering Aiguilles and faces with terrifying exposure enter one’s mind; Skiers bumbling down the Arete of the Aiguille du Midi while clenching the steel safely line before their descent into the some of the world’s most beautiful mountains.

Its funny how the passing of a friend can make you appreciate them more than when they were flesh and blood. Don’t get me wrong, I have always appreciated the “Captain” Jack Carey. I just didn't always show it because my interactions with him were often accompanied by intense fear and anxiety.

In case you haven't got the memo yet, the 2nd stop of the 2010 Subaru Freeskiing World Tour at Revelstoke Mountain Resort totally went off. Hard charging skiing, awesome final venues, huge airs, helicopters, and unbeatable reception from local staff and sponsors. You name it, this comp had it.

They did it folks... they actually pulled it off. Day 2 of the Canadian Freeskiing Championships just went off at Revelstoke Mountain Resort on an jaw-dropping venue above Greely Bowl - with none other than a Bell 212 helicopter shuttling competitors to the top! Revelstoke and MSI just pulled this comp off in style.

The 2nd stop of the 2010 Freeskiing World Tour is officially underway, with Day 1 going off as smooth as can be in North Bowl on Revelstoke Mountain Resort earlier today. Clouds held off, visibility was good, and if there were any soft landings left on the resort, this was the place to find’em.
