“ARMY” – Story of a Ski Tour: Alexandra Armstrong
Alexandra “Army” Armstrong is a Lake Louise-based skier who’s NOT afraid to charge through sharky conditions and drop nasty cliffs into shallow landing zones.
She’s always been a standout competitor at the Lake Louise Big Mountain Freeride Comp, flashing through the bones with technical prowess and committed fluidity.
Her comfort level within those zones is a function of her ski patrolling on those very same lines. But mostly it’s just because “Army” is a total badass.
Check out this short film and see how she operates…
From Story of a Ski Tour:
Alexandra Armstrong loves to ski. But that passion comes at a price. Sacrificing financial stability and a permanent address to chase the dream. Alexandra works hard all summer to ski all winter.
But in the end she wouldn’t have it any other way. “Without following that passion and seeing if there is success in it, or even if there’s failure. You’ll be happy because you are doing what you love and that’s the most important thing.”
Alexandra Armstrong is a Ski Patroller at Lake Louise Ski Resort and coaches at the Lake Louise All Mountain Club. She skis for Ski Big 3, Smith Optics, The North Face, K2 Skis and Banff Soul.
