Battle for Crystal Globes on Snowboard World Cup Hits Home Stretch

As happened in both 2008 and 2009, Valmalenco will once again host decisions in three different disciplines. More than 100 women and 150 men from more than 20 countries are entered in competitions in snowboard cross, parallel giant slalom and halfpipe.

Nordic Combined Silver Medalist to Visit Utah Olympic Park Friday

Winter Stargazer Event at Snowbird Saturday

USA's Farrington Wins Gold in Close Snowboard SuperPipe Final at Winter X Games Europe
bTignes, France -/b Kaitlyn Farrington has competed in the Winter X Games for the past three years, and Thursday night in the women's Snowboard SuperPipe final, she leaves Winter X Games Europe with her first gold medal. In a field of six women, four of whom were Olympians, Farrington and Australia's Torah Bright went head-to-head for the title.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany -/b Canada's Erik Guay kept his stride Thursday, winning his second straight super G to notch the title, the first World Cup globe for a Canadian since 1982 during the Audi FIS World Cup Finals in Germany. Ted Ligety, of Park City, Utah, led for the U.S., finishing 16th.
