A few early season turns!
After what seemed like a longer than usual wait, we finally got out first face shots of the season. Those two days late last week blanketed the mountains north of Pemby just enough to get the early season fix we needed. I knew just the spot where the north facing walls held the goods. Travel up the valley was a little spoty but skinning all the way was possible.
There were a few perfectly filled couloirs that had our names on them! Mike dropped into this one like it was January!
Overnight the temps dropped to -14, the skies cleared and the snow lightened up even more for day 2.

Nice turns just curious at what elevation was there enough snow to ski
we had a pretty consistent 40 cms on top of a solid rain crust at 2000m plus. North was blown in from Friday's winds. Good to go with one more dump!
ya nice, sounds similar. that rain crust kinda helped keep the rocks out of the picture, oddly enough. can't wait to shred the hill on Wed or Thurs and then back to the backcountry for the weekend if ya ask me.
like the perfect plan Jamie!
