16 Feet of Snow at Whistler Blackcomb - The Video

Tagged in:

If you ask most skiers to fantasize the best ski season opening they could possibly imagine, they'll each come up with something different. Some might want it to start a week early, or maybe two weeks early for good measure.

Others might be all about bluebird skies on opening day. The people who know where its at will be wishing snow; lots of it. Maybe a foot of fresh? Nah lets make that 5 feet. Why stop there? If we're fantasizing, lets go for the biggest storm we can think of, like 8 feet. Ya, that sounds good. Imagine an 8 foot storm.

No, on second thought, lets get really, really, really greedy. Imagine if a season could start 2 weeks early, with blue skies on opening day, and 5 meters or 16 feet of snow over the first 2 weeks. Is that getting too greedy? After all, never seen anything like that in history.

Oh wait, that just happened. Whistler Blackcomb's 2009/10 season couldn't have possibly started better, and we haven't even reached the official opening day. Here's a little video teaser... of one run... on one of those many powder days. You know, just in case people are having troubles putting this into perspective.
